Online advertisements can be intrusive. Ads can blink, pop up in your face, flash, and generally draw your attention completely from content. Here at The Maritime Anchor, we love our content. We want you to read and appreciate it. That’s what we’re here for right? So, we’ve come up with an advertising policy that has a fusion of our interests – supporting Atlantic Canada, promoting businesses, and the inclusion of relevant content.
With that in mind, we’ve decided not to run ad networks like Google, Yahoo, or other world-wide advertisements. You don’t need to see six ads a day for international brands of soap. Instead, you should be served advertisements for the new locally owned shops in Halifax, Fredericton, or St. John’s.
We sell advertisements to businesses in Atlantic Canada. That means that your audience is directly invested in your business – because they’re a part of your community too.
